Frankie and Bennys

Who are they

Frankie and Benny's is a UK chain themed on 1950s Americana diner, with an Italian twist. Or something like that. They occupy the site next to Tesco, at Battlefield, and share parking space with their sister restaurant, Chiquito (both are part of the same group of restaurants).

What do they offer

Sides of ciabatta, onion rings, corn, slaw and home cut fries. Mains of spaghetti and meatballs, lasagne al forno and calzone, plus burgers, steaks and BBQ style dishes. It's a big menu and although the portions probably are not as authentic as you'd get in a real American Italian diner, you shouldn't leave Frankie and Bennys Shrewsbury feeling hungry!

Why do we like them

We like that Frankie and Bennys offer an experience. The restaurant isn't just somewhere you go to refuel, but to enjoy an atmosphere. Not really somewhere we'd personally chose for a romantic meal, but for a fun afternoon treat for the children, or a stop combined with a trip to the cinema, it's a fun experience.
