I visit Dorrington occasionally. I have been aware of this outlet for some time. During the Autumn, having bought produce from Sadds previously, I revisited and purchased a half lamb. I do not have vocabulary that will express just how impressed I am.
It's Tuesday January 2nd 2018 and have just cooked a shoulder (of lamb). The only words I have would simply be pleonasms.
This Butcher is a hidden gem. His customer skills are beyond praise and the quality of meat is beyond accurate description. The 35 mile round trip is a little inconvenient but forward planning and future patronage is not.

The meat is superb quality, having grown up on a farm and used to 'Proper'meat this is of equal flavour & value for money.
The Faggots are the best that I have found and are lager than the shop bought ones.
Pork pies are worth buying as these too are good value.
The bacon is the best that I have had for many years, when you cook it there isn't a load of other injected fluids seeping out, also it's thick sliced unlike most of the supermarket bought stuff.
Prices are dearer than supermarkets but the taste & quality are much higher.

Many years ago we had an afternoon tea at Claridges, in London, and we were pleasantly surprised to see on the menu that the ham in the sandwiches was supplied by Sadd, Dorrington, Shropshire.
It was beautiful then and all these years later it's just the same.
They will cut it to whatever thickness you like, we have ours fairly thick, just as Claridges did.
I don't know if they still supply to them but all I know is that it's beautiful ham and deserved to be recognised by one of the best hotels in the land!

I have Driven past Sadd Buychers for over 56 years and not had the time to stop ! I did on Saturday 29th April 2023 for the first time ! I will never pass again without stopping to purchase provisions .. !
First rate friendly service late on a Saturday and absolutely first rate sausages and lamb.
It save me going to Claridges !

Absolutely would recommend. I have never bought any meat here which hasnt been perfect and the bacon is the best I have ever tasted. ( this is from someone whose 3 uncles owned a bacon company)
