Steve Carter's review
We visited The Lime Kiln in September as we heard Elaine & Ian had recently moved from Capers in Shrewsbury. We found a lovely, cosy pub that has recently been refurbished and we were immediately made very welcome. I had the fish pie and have to say it was the best I've ever tasted. Our meals were all freshly cooked with locally sourced ingredients where possible and the portions were generous. Whilst we looked longingly at the pudding menu, we only had enough room left to share a cheesecake but they were happy to give us extra spoons! After the meal, we relaxed on the sofa with coffee in front of the open fire. For dog walkers, they also allow well behaved dogs in the bar area. Wished we lived nearer to visit more often but we will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

The town's old armoury was moved brick by brick to its present location. Now in the guise of a pub. Serves great traditional English food. Lovely interior and good value.
