The Old Bell

Who are they

The Old Bell is situated in an elegant Georgian building in one of Shrewsbury's main through fares within easy walking distance of the Abbey Church and Lord Hill's column. An historic venue, the Old Bell was first recorded as 'The Bell' in 1780 but by the mid 19th century the name had changed to 'The Old Bell' to differentiate it from similarly named pubs in the town. Today the Old Bell is part of the internationally reknowned Marstons group but offers an original and individualistic drinking and dining experience in Shrewsbury.

What do they offer

The Old Bell offers a welcoming and friendly bar with the added impetus of being Shrewsbury's only bespoke American menu which has become extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. The classy, sleek, modern lines of the bar and restaurant areas guarantee an enjoyable stay whether you are calling in for lunch, dinner or an overnight stay in the Old Bell's exclusive bed and breakfast accommodation. If you are looking for a genuine warm welcome; a great selection of beers and guest ales; a fabulous dining experience as well as great value for money overnight stays, why not give the 'Old Bell' a try, you will be pleasantly surprised, and, we have found, will call again and again and again

This is now back to a traditional English pub with a new licensee offering great reasonable priced food.
The menu is quite large and is really good value for money.
The service is excellent the staff are friendly and attentive, the licensee Simon has worked hard to re-build trade and turn it into the busy friendly pub that it is today.
We eat here on a regular basis and don't hesitate to recommend a visit.

Great pub and restaurant near the town centre. They have themed food nights. At the moment Thursdays are fish day. Check before booking though as this may change.
